Meeton Chat
The generative AI agent that talks to live visitors on your site. There is no scenario tree to design: the agent answers from your knowledge, carries the visitor's past browsing, downloads and conversations into every reply, and hands off to a booking the moment intent rises. Its settings follow one stepper: General, Prompt, Knowledge, Tools, Advanced, Try it out. These pages follow the same order.
What the visitor sees
Three kinds of button, each with its own job, and the product keeps them apart on purpose:
| Buttons | Where | Who writes them |
|---|---|---|
| Reply buttons | Under the welcome message only. A tap sends the text as the visitor's message, and the buttons go away. | You, up to a few per welcome message, per page rule. |
| AI suggested replies | Under every AI answer: up to 3 tappable replies the visitor may have to that answer. | The AI, for that moment. |
| Conversation starters | Above the input box, there for the whole chat whatever the conversation. | You. |
| Quick replies | Above the closed launcher, on a page of an ads journey. Tapping one opens the chat with that message. | A creative in Meeton Ads. |
What it does
- Drop in the snippet
Paste the tag once. The AI starts talking to visitors the moment it is installed, with no Q&A flows to script.
- Converse with full context
The AI is given all the context there is on each visitor: pages visited, CRM data, meeting history, documents read. It answers precisely and steers toward a meeting rather than just closing a ticket.
- Move to a booking on the spot
When intent rises, the agent hands off to Meeton Calendar and closes the booking right inside the conversation.
Two kinds of agent
An SDR (sales development representative) is the inside-sales role that qualifies inbound interest and books meetings for account executives; an AI SDR is software doing that job. Intent here is buyer intent as used in B2B marketing: behaviour that suggests someone is evaluating.
| Agent type | In the product's words | What it unlocks |
|---|---|---|
| AI SDR | Asks questions of website visitors to assess lead quality, identifies needs, and aims to acquire leads and opportunities. | Lead form, bookable calendars, Library, Ads, Email, target accounts, CRM sync. |
| Customer support | Helps visitors resolve issues, answers questions, and collects satisfaction feedback upon resolution. | A contact form instead of a lead form, the FAQ articles the widget renders, support analytics. Booking, Library, Ads and Email stay out of the way. |
How a conversation works, technically
- Answers arrive whole, not token by token. An answer can carry special tokens such as
[USER_FORM]or[CALENDAR_FORM]that tell the widget to draw a lead form or a booking form in place of the token, so the message is only rendered once it is complete. See Prompt. - Context. Every reply is grounded in the visitor's timeline: pages viewed, referrer, documents read, earlier messages, whether they are a known contact and, if their company was recognised from its network, that company and whether it is a target account.
- Conversations persist. A visitor who engaged is flagged in localStorage (
dynameetEngaged), so the next visit restores the thread. The same thread is on the contact's record in the dashboard and synced to the CRM. - Live updates. The WebSocket pushes new messages and page-change events in real time. If a proxy blocks it, chat still works over HTTPS; only the live push waits for the next page view.
- Languages. With auto-translate on, the agent replies in the visitor's browser language and your saved text is translated on the way out. See Advanced.
The settings, step by step

Opening the chat yourself
<a href="#" onclick="window.Meeton && window.Meeton.openChat(); return false;">Talk to us</a>For a dedicated contact page, render the chat inline with the inline chat embed. In embed mode the conversation is always open and marketing popups are suppressed.
Where it shows up in the dashboard
- Visitors and Contacts hold the merged timeline: page views, chat, bookings, documents and emails in one stream.
- Performance → Chat reports conversations, leads captured, meetings booked from chat, and customer satisfaction for support agents.
- Notifications can alert Slack, Teams, Google Chat or email when a chat starts, a lead is captured, a visitor asks for a human, or a visitor from a target account arrives. See CRM, notifications & team.
