Companies
The organisations behind your visitors. Most B2B traffic never fills in a form, and the Companies tab is how that traffic becomes an account list: which companies are reading what, which have someone on the site right now, and which already have a contact.
How a company is identified
A visitor is matched to a company in one of three ways:
The drill-down lists in Insights show which of the three a row came from. A company needs at least one identified visitor to exist in the table.
The table
JSIC is the Japan Standard Industrial Classification, the government's industry taxonomy. Its three levels are shown as Division, Group and Subgroup; companies outside Japan carry whatever industry data their firmographics provider has.
The company drawer
Click a company to open its drawer, built for a quick decision about whether to act:
- Active visitors. How many of the company's visitors are on the site now, and how many of the total are high intent. Shows the highest score among this company's visitors.
- Firmographics. Employees, area and industry. No company details available means the name was recognised but the provider has no record for it.
- Known people. The contacts at this company, each with their funnel stage; No known people yet until the first one identifies.
- Top pages viewed and recent activity. The pages the company read most, and a short feed: Viewed /pricing, Chatted with Meeton.
- Visitors. Every visitor matched to the company, live ones first, each opening its visitor record.
Target lists and notifications
The Target lists column shows which of your target account lists the company is on, matched by exact company name. A visit from a listed company can trigger a notification; the list changes nothing else in the dashboard.
Companies in Insights
The same companies drive two reports. Sales Insights ranks hot companies by intent right now, lists every account browsing but not yet a contact, and suggests lookalike accounts from your contacts' industries, sizes and regions. Insights by Module → Intent turns the week into a call list: identified companies, those that already have a contact, and the high-intent ones that do not.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Few companies for the amount of traffic | Most visitors are on consumer or mobile networks, which do not resolve to a company | Normal for B2C-heavy traffic. The Intent module report shows the identification rate week by week. |
| A carrier or hosting provider appears as a company | Network identification picked up the network owner | Exclude its visitors with a label; they do not count once labelled. Identification improves when the visitor chats or converts. |
| Two spellings of the same company | One came from a contact record, the other from the network or the chat | Search by domain rather than name. Target lists match the exact recognised name, so add both spellings to the list. |
| A known customer shows as high intent | Their visitors read purchase pages; the company has no exclusion of its own | Disqualify their contacts as Already a customer; those visitors leave the funnels. |
Frequently asked questions
Can I add a company by hand?
No. Companies exist because visitors were matched to them. To watch a company that has not visited yet, put it on a target account list and you will be notified when it does.
Does the company table go to my CRM?
No. CRM sync writes contacts and activities. Use Export CSV for an account list.
Why does a company's intent differ between here and Sales Insights?
This table shows the current highest score; Sales Insights for a past quarter ranks companies by their intent at the time. For the last-30-days view the two agree.
